I've always had success jumping 1-2 inches higher in negative heel shoes (forefoot dominant track shoes). Running vertical is improved more than standing and only my two legged jumps were higher.
I saw this scientific journal a few years ago http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10521609 and got some track shoes... was shocked at the difference. These were the exact ones I used to jump in http://www.adarq.org/performance-tra...waffle-racers/
Just some useful information for people that want to break their PRs in the vertical jump.

Someone from adarq forums... If past posters from that forum are any indication this should get pretty weird pretty quick.
Keep in mind OP is the EMS guy.
It definitely did work to give an extra 1.5 inches, for me at least. Do sprinters not run faster with forefoot dominant shoes? Don't high jumpers jump with forefoot dominant shoes? It's the same thing. Pretty much all track and field events require negative heel shoes. You guys should be a bit more open minded.
And to clarify, the way to increase vertical is to get really strong by lifting heavy (not light as you suggested I think) and get really fast.
