Instapundit posted asking for people's experience with low-carb and with Starting Strength.

Tons of interesting stories there. Check them out!

Thanks for posting that, Bill. I keep toying with the idea of going low carb again. I didn't have much luck last time I tried it, but I wasn't exercising beyond walking and had other health issues at the time. I know my doc would be pleased if I did. Alway nice to keep the doc off ones back if possible.

Bill: I was late to the Instapundit thread and posted the following. I would appreciate your thoughts (and anyone else's).
I am a 64 year old male. I started SS a few months ago and just finished Taubes' book (both at Glenn's suggestion). My question is whether a no- or low-carb diet works when one is trying to build strength. I am by no means an expert, or even very well informed, but I have read that carbs are important when working out. I would appreciate advice from those who have combined Rippetoe and Taubes.

PSB, you can consider asking in Jordan Feigenbaum's Nutrition subforum, or even in Rip's Q&A.

I'd tell you that these things probably vary a bit from person to person, so you should experiement with things yourself and see how you feel with more or fewer carbs. However, I will sy that a lot of us feel carbs are important for a hard-working individual, especially soon before and soon after workouts.

Keeps my pre-diabetes in check and I can run for two hours without eating anything and my allergy symptoms have all but disappeared:
