Cases like this are situations where you will be learning as much as he is. Apply the model, train what you can progressively, push him but don't annoy him, and you both will be better very soon.
A guy I know has a right arm that is completely useless due to a motorcycle accident. The right arm is non-functional. Completely non-functional whatsoever. He uses his left hand to put his right hand in a pocket so it won't get in the way when he does firearms training.
I told him that I would help him with workouts if he goes to the gym with me.
He is very interested, and I'm wondering how to come up with a good program for him. Not an official program, but the guy looks like Ghandi, and it would be nice if we could just help him out.
Any input at all would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

May I suggest a search on this ooold username: mwhities
He had only one arm and not only competed in powerlifting with it, he managed to figure out to balance a bar on his back and SQUAT to a legal depth with it.
Thank you. I sent him a link to Ask Rip #25, so he would have some appreciation for why I said Mark Rippetoe is one of my favorite people on the planet.
