    Default Texas Method Q

I'm not certain what weight to use on the Monday 5 x5 workout in the Texas method.

Is "moderate" intensity with high volume (PPST2, p 122) the same thing as the "medium" intensity described in the Starr Model? If not, is 90% (or so) of the 5RM a good starting point (as J.Q.'s workout (p 181) indicates)?

I don't really know, but how can this possibly be a problem? When you go to the Texas Method, you will be switching from 3x5 to 5x5. What weight can you do for 5 sets across that allows you to get them all done the first workout? Why is more analysis necessary? If it's fun for you, okay.

I was just trying to figure out a starting point for 5 x 5, since I've never done that kind of volume. I guess it's just a common sense approach, plus experience as to what works and what doesn't. I used 90% of 5RM x 5 last week and got through it, and will do 5RM x 1 tonight (Fri-Wed rather than Mon-Fri).
