    "The deadlift and the clean differ once the bar leaves the floor. Remember that the deadlift is a slow lift, so we’re not necessarily concerned with accelerating it off the floor after we get it moving up...The power clean is a fast lift. It is accelerated off the floor quickly with a submaximal load."

    Seems like the inherit and seemly unavoidable double knee bend* action would limit the leverage ("trebuchet effect") of the hips....like, one would want to powerclean EXACTLY like a deadlift.

    Thinking about it, I guess whatever is taken away would add a "longer lever" to the quads at that point.

    As interested as you are in arguing about it, you really ought to just break down and come to the seminar, so you'll know what we actually teach about the clean. Then you can destroy our model in person instead of making us do all this typing. The second pull/double knee bend takes place after the peak acceleration.
