    Default Deadlift angles (Back)

Been awhile since I asked for some feedback. I'm 6'6 and setting my back has been a struggle since I started.

Shot a video from the rear quarter view of an easy weight (100kg) to see if my angles are good.

On a heavier weight I pull myself away from it with my upper back for greater tightness, can't do this here, since weight would lift off the ground.

I lift a good deal slower than normal to show the form.

    Any comments or advice?

And sorry about dropping the weight on the last rep. Don't know why I did that...

At 6'6", you have a longer way to reach down, but those look okay. You don't actually even try to squeeze your chest up, however. Look 15 or 20 feet ahead and squeeze up. Get uncomfortable. Right now, your back is just about flat without even trying, so I don't think you have any problems getting in position. Also, that looked ridiculously light. You probably need about twice that weight on the bar. Nice Eleiko equipment, too.

    Thanks,

You are correct, I don't squeeze up a lot on those. If I do at that weight, I just start lifting the weight. It was more a question if my angles looked ok - which you answered.

My last set of fives was 215.5 kg so 100 kg is obviously not a lot. I deadlift on thursdays so didn't want to go heavy on a sunday after squats and presses.

I plan to run into you when you reach Copenhagen.

As it so happens, we'll be holding a camp on the deadlift and power clean should you want to join us.

As it so happens, that is exactly why I planned to run into you. I'm sure you're a great guy but in this case it is your coaching I'm interested in : - )
