In my gym we do not have a normal pull up bar but we have this : http://www.gymcompany.co.uk/_images/...3747ec680f.jpg

Its like the same angle in the ez bar.
Now considering the ez bar for barbell curls is not effect at all do you think this kind of pull up ''rack'' is resembling the ez bar and therefor should be avoided?

We have a Powerrack not a Squatrack so I can't do any pull ups on that one.

    Thanks in regard.
    And what about chin ups?

EZ curls are fine, and so is that form of pullup. The argument against EZ curls being suboptimal due to them not allowing you to fully supinate is pretty assanine, imho, since maximal recruitment isn't dependent upon achieving a maximally shortened position.

By extension, I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that form of pullup/chin, and I doubt it'd hamper the development of anything.

Interesting, so SSBT is wrong there?
Did you Rippetoe ever reply to you about your point.

I know Rippetoe said it, and the first time I ever saw this argument in print was by Mike Mentzer, I just happen to think it's nonsensical. No offense to Rip or anything, and no, I never brought this point up with him, since it's pretty minor (we're allowed to disagree, particularly over trivialities, after all).

Straight bar is harder though. I dont use anything else because I like how it feels better.

I can do 12 pull ups on those angled bars, but only 6-7 on a straight bar.

Alright but this issue is certainly not worth changing gyms I assume.
I can make so progress on these bars?

My gym has the same setup... I improvised and found a use for the smith machine. If your gym has one, set the bar to the top and do chins/pull ups there. I'm 5'8" so its easy for me, but you might have to bend your legs a bit.

I am 195cm :P Might use that though. Aren't you having trouble getting above the bar with the Smith rack getting in the way?

Yes. It will not hinder the development of anything whatsoever. And neither will an EZ curl bar :-x
