Rip, there have been a few times when I've had to take 2-3 weeks off due to work, family, etc. Each time, my legs have cramped during that first training session, then I'm back to normal next time. My diet does tend to change a little when I'm not training, and I know that cramps are from dehydration and electrolyte imbalances, but is it odd that it routinely happens after a break?
