    G'day Rip,

On Monday, I successfully completed 5x5 140kg squats, which I was very happy about. But, a couple of hours after I was done, I noticed my eye was pretty red. Two days later, it was looking like this:

I assume it was from the increased pressure in my head from the valsalva maneuver. Although it didn't hurt or impair my vision, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here that would cause this?

    Thanks,
    Tim

It's a broken capillary, happens all the time. It will be gone in 2 days. It will happen again. You will not be adversely affected. I could pull an explanation out of my ass, but it would be better to let experience calm your worries.

Same thing happened to me once. I wasn't squatting at the gym or anything, I was on the can the morning after some pretty serious beer drinking and taco eating. I went in to see the doctor and he laughed his ass of at me. Told me I'd be just fine and not to worry at all. And it was gone a day or so later and didn't fuck up my vision or anything at all.

Now-a-days I drink in moderation. I still eat tacos like a motherfucker, but the next day, I just bring a book with me and I don't get impatient ;-)

If you can do it on the pot, it can't be that serious.
