    Default parallel bars & other exercises besides dips

    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    I like dips as an assistance to the press and the bench press. However I was wondering if there was any other good assistance exercises that could be done using the parallel bars besides dips. Any ideas?

    Your probably overcomplicating things.

    Why the need for something other than dips?

    Parallel bars come from gymnastics, there is an almost endless array of gymnastic movements you could be doing. You could also try L-sit dips, planche push up style dips and handstand dips all on the bars.

    Do you mean handstand pushup, instead of dip? If you can do freestanding, shoulders-to-hands handstand push-ups on the parallel bars, you probably don't need to do any barbell presses.
