Default Back hyper-extension and potential gamage

    Hello,

I'm 73kg and I wonder if there is a potential damage to the lumbar discs due to squatting with 70kg or deadlifting with 70kg while slightly hyper-extending my back? Or these are not heavy enough to cause any damage?

    Thanks.

I would avoid hyperextending anytime there is a load on your back (meaning, this rule does not apply to the bench press). Obviously the danger increases with the weight and the degree of your hyperextension, but I'd still avoid it even at the low weights.

All this said, I don't have a visual to see what you mean by a "slight" hyperextension.

I'll record & upload a video next time I'll be at the gym.

    Thanks for your advice!
