Pat Casey is the definition of hard training, I remember when I first read the article written by Bruce Wilhelm(one of his contemporaries) in which he stated pat used to dip over 100,000 lbs over a period of 7 hours, amazing workload capacity.
Considering the question about the deadlift:
Pat was primarily known for upper body strength, I remember in that article(which is now evident seeing the routine written by Marty) that Pat didn't train his DL that often(numbers were around the mid 600's-low 700's)
