I'm helping a friend's son prepare for his rugby season. The pre-season tour is in 6 weeks, and the season starts in 8. He's 16 years old, 6'6", 210lb, <10% bodyfat, and currently squatting 300x5x3 easily on standard LP.

What's the fastest rate of weight gain he should be aiming at? 4lb per week?

When would you add in the Prowler? Rugby has a 1:7 work to rest ratio for forwards, and most work periods are 10-15 metre sprints.

    Thanks.

How much practice is he doing per week and I assume he's going through puberty?

No practice for the next 6 weeks. His focus is solely strength and mass gain with conditioning added as late possible.

Yes, going through puberty - probably early Tanner Stage 5.

I'd be looking to weigh ~250 by the start of the season. I'd add in conditioning now 1x/wk and titrate up to 3/wk at the end of preseason.

Excellent. Thank you. Hopefully he'll train hard enough to get his squat above 350x5x3.

With you behind him, I have no doubts.
