You've got volume deads, intensity deads, and GMs in the same week. Peel some of that back and your back will likely recover
25, male, 245 lbs
Recent lifts:
SQ: 315 - 3x5 (running out LP again after a hip injury)
DL: 365 - 1x3
OHP: 185 - 1x5
BP: 250 - 1x5
Program:
Monday: 1x5 press, 5x5 bench, assistance
Tuesday: 3x5 squat, 3x6 deadlift, 1x5 barbell row
Wed: Prowler or rest if needed
Thursday: 1x5 bench, 5x5 press, assistance
Friday: 3x5 squat, 1x3 deadlift, 3x5 paused good morning
Sat: Prowler or rest if needed
Sun: Rest
Notes: I dropped deadlifts from 1x5 to 1x3 and added in volume work on Tuesday to accumulate a bit more volume and to keep my form a bit more solid for the whole set. The Tuesday deadlift runs about 100 lbs lighter than Friday. My deadlift has always been a bit weak, usually hovering close to my squat.
My issue: The 3x5 on squats is leaving my back quite tired for DLs. I just can't keep my damn back straight on DLs after squatting 300+ for a few sets. I am running out my LP on squats and it is getting a little tough. However, I'm pretty sure that I can continue to add 5 lbs/workout until 350-375, so I don't want to switch off to an intermediate squat setup just yet. I fear that if I continue to deadlift with a tired back from squats, I will inevitably hurt myself.
This program has yielded excellent progress for me lately. I'm hoping you could throw a possible solution my way. I am very open to suggestions.
Thanks for your time, and for this forum.

What if I dropped the deads on Tuesday, and then alternated for volume and intensity on Friday? So Friday 1 could be 5x5 (100 lbs less than intensity DL), Friday 2 could be 1x3. If this doesn't sound like a bad idea, I'll give it a shot.
No, I think your idea is fine. Its a minor adjustment to the program which I am in favor of. Tweaking is generally better than overhauling if something was working for you.
