Default Numb Thumbs Using Hook Grip

I'm in the novice program and on Saturday my thumbs went numb after deadlifting 275 for a set of 5 using a hook grip. I've been using the hook grip for awhile, but haven't had this happen before. The thumbs stayed numb for a couple days. Today I did 280 for a set of 5 and my left thumb is numb. Is this something to be concerned about? Or, just keep using it and not worry about it? I spent some time searching the forums, but couldn't find an answer to this. Thanks!

I always wrap my thumbs with medical tape prior to completing my DL 5x1 working set. Not sure this is the answer, but it may help?

Nerve got pinched. Happens to me sometimes when carrying my groceries up 3 flights of stairs. Like you mentioned, it can last a few hours to days before its normal.
