    Default Knee sleeves for deadlift

will it ruin my knee sleeves if I use them instead of DL socks (dropping them down to my foot area) while deadlifting? I'm using Titan Neoprene knee sleeves and they help a lot but I was wondering if using them that way could possibly damage them.

I'm sure it could, particularly if you let the knurling of the bar rub against them. However I've been using my Rehband sleeves to protect my shins for a few months now and it hasn't affected them noticeably. I use a pretty narrow stance so the sleeves only touch smooth metal, no knurling.

Get a 2L plastic coke bottle.

Cut out 2 ovals approximately 20x7cm (8"x3") from the sides.

Stick into the tops of your socks. Voila. A slick protective surface for your shins.

I've had mine for about 10 years and still use them occasionally when deadlifting for volume.

besides not owning a pair yet I have none. But knee sleeves seem much wider and completely block any pain from the shins. If it doesn't matter and my sleeves won't get damaged that way I don't see a reason for me to use socks at all

I've used knee sleeves for this purpose for a long time.

I've never worn through a pair.

Knee sleeves and skin are both replaceable. I haven't worn through either.

This is what I did 4 years ago when you mentioned these homemade shin guards in a thread on this forum. They still work today. :-)

    Rehband also makes shin/calf sleeves/supports.

I've been using my SBD's and they are fine. Only the smooth part of the bar touches them.
