read the become a beast article in the nutrition form.Been eating 3500 calories for the past few days. its a little intimidating for me since I have always been big(and honestly its a bet of chore to get 300 grams of protein in). but I got faith its what's best in the long run.
    see y'all tomorrow.

Welcome. I don't think you need to gain weight. You may wish to check the nutrition section for advice.

Hi Carson, the form is where I got the 3500 number from... although I may have misunderstood him. the sticky at the top of the nutrition form said to read this To Be A Beast | Barbell Medicine
it seemed a good enough place to start. I used his graph. and kind of cut it down the middle between fat loss (11.43 Kcal/lb) and recomposition (12.62/lb). also 3500 was a nice round number in that rage, and I like round numbers...
    12.62*288=3634.56
    11.43*288=3291.84
I took it as a starting point.did I misread his recommendation? or miss the point entirely? any and all help/helpful critics are welcome.

    Welcome. Previous PR's?

Starting with 3500 sounds reasonable and then adjust accordingly based on your goals as well as what that # is doing to your bw.

don't remember doing much deadlifting back then...
that was back in school when I just did whatever the coach told me.but since that time I have had a football injury, surgery on said injury, got married and now am a desk jockey,so I am not surprised at how much strength I have lost.... time flies... now that I think about it.its been more like 4 or 5 years... just realized I am old lol

Don't worry man, slow and steady and you'll be strong again in no time. Form videos are a great idea for you and others to critique, even if you've had the opportunity to work with a SSC in person.

Don't forget that you will be adding muscle at the same time as losing fat. Your scale weight may stay the same for a while until those two lines intersect and weight starts to drop.

    Welcome to the forum.
