Starting over, because I had to take time off from the gym and I didn't quite milk my LP for all it was worth the first time around.

I'm 40, overweight and grouchy. This is probably how my midlife crisis is expressing itself.

    Squats: 165x5x3

    OHP: 85x5x3

    Deadlift: 225x5

It's late Monday night, I forgot to post Sunday's workout on Sunday. Whoops.

Rowing machine: I figured 5 minutes on a machine wasn't going to kill me. 936m. I'll probably do more during the cold months.

    Squats: 175x5x3

    Bench: 115x5x3

Deadlift: 240x5, chalk and hook grip felt good for warmups, but I used mixed grip for the work set and felt like I had a lot left in the tank. This left me on a high note.

I ordered a belt from Amazon. Ader Leather Powerlifting Belt. 4" wide. 3/8" thick. It arrives Wednesday.

Welcome! You might have once been a mediocre cyclist, but I am still a mediocre cyclist.

Did you ride road? MTB? Track?

I've never been a mediocre cyclist. Possibly drawn into this thread by post-TdF withdrawal.

Road. I don't have time to train for cycling events, so I figured I'd turn myself into Robert Forstemann.

Here I am a day late again. Good news, my new belt arrived. It seems good out of the box. Its a thick 4" monster I picked up for $40 and some change on amazon.

    Squat: 185x5x3

    Overhead: 90x5x3

    Felt strong today.

Five minutes on the rowing machine, 942m

    Squat:
    45x5x2
    95x3
    135x2
    165x1
    195x5x3

    Bench
    45x5x2
    75x3
    105x2
    125x5x3

    Deadlift
    135x5
    185x3
    225x2
    270x5

Used my new belt during my squats and deads. Never used a belt before. It moves more than I thought it would, esp. when deadlifting.

It could be that your belt isn't broken in yet, so it doesn't fit properly. But when broken in, it shouldn't move while you lift

It does provide physical feedback, to help my back stay in line. Which is nice.

    starting strength coach development program
    Squat
    45 x 5 x 2
    95 x 3
    135 x 2
    175 x 1
    205 x 5 x 3

    Overhead
    45 x 5 x 2
    75 x 3
    100 x 5 x 3

    Deadlift
    135 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 2
    245 x 1
    285 x 5

Everything feels strong. I tightened the belt a notch and it stayed put.

Between belt and shoes, there's a tendency for my knees to push forward at the bottom of my squat. I probably should watch a form video again.
