Just watched the most recent ask Rip - noticed you told a 6'3'' guy that he'd have to get comfortable weighing 250lbs. Im curious - around what bodyfat percentage is that?

yeah, i figured id get something like that. meaning high teens? high 20s? 30s?

I ask because I'm a similar age and in a similar situation. I'd love to weigh as much as possible, but I don't want to be in the high 20s bodyfat. While my lifts might suffer at a lower weight, I like the way my pants fit when I'm in the high teens/low 20s bf%. don't worry. I'm not going for abs. just trying to balance out everything as a middle aged intermediate.

First guy -- I think Rip called him Marty -- seemed in pretty tight control of his diet. Anybody know if he keeps a log on the site? Or maybe he'll respond here. I was just curious -- being in pretty similar biological shape, though a bit heavier -- how do you get your 230g protein/day? Also, if you're up to it, I would be quite interested in hearing how you went from 270 to 212 -- though I imagine the more interesting story is still to come as you work your way back to 240-250 and strong.

At 47 I went from 230 to 175 - I'm also working my way back up. Mid 180s now. I did it with diet, HIIT and jogging - yeah, jogging. I didnt do 230 grams, but I added made sure I ate every 3-5 hours and got at least 40 grams of protein - Whey Protein shakes, Non fat greek yogurt with berries were frequent. Meals were eggs (mixed with deli turkey breast), chicken breasts, chicken breasts and more chicken breasts.
