One day I'll join in. Have fun, everyone.
Amigos,
We have another series of strength meets for those of you that would like to compete. On the weekend of April 1 and 2 of 2017, eight locations around the US will hold The Starting Strength Challenge. All the competitions will be held in kilograms this time around because, well, socialism. The smallest increment for all of the lifts will be 1 kg. No commands from the judges. Weigh-outs instead of weigh-ins. Presses. Conventional deadlifts. All the good stuff strength meets are known for.
This is the first set of meets that is sanctioned by the newly formed US Strengthlifting Federation. Making a total in this meet qualifies you for a national meet to be held in January 2018. As usual, we will combine the data from all of the locations and announce a winner for both men and women in the Open and Masters divisions. The rules and some extra details can be found at:
2017 Starting Strength Challenge | US Strengthlifting Federation
Here are the locations and meet directors, both in text and map form. I would link each location's sign up, but I've already done that on the page above and on the map below if you click on it. There are only so many links I can countenance in a given day. We'd love to see you at one of these locations and wish you an excellent 2017.

Well shucks, no NC meet. Maybe next time!
Rick on! See you in Oakland!
Bummer, I was hoping AZ would have one this go around.
Glad to see that Strengthlifting now has a federation
I will try to swing a trip to NYC for work somewhere around the meet.
Is there any chance that there will be a Junior's division for this round of meets?
No. And you don't want to go down that road anyway, which ends with the Gender-Fluid Sub-Masters 5-year Drug Free Deadlift-only division, 181-lb weight class first place trophy.
