I am well-read on Rip's disdain (lack of concern may be better) for working "abs." However, isn't it really important to have a strong transverse abdominus? It seems that particular muscle plays an important role in all parts of the squat, and that work apart from the squats themselves is the only way to do it. I read somplace that the transverse abdominus in the second most important muscle in the body, right after the myocardium. Any thoughts?
