Default box squatting in texas method

i was getting bored of squat 5x5 (i also stalled) so i switched volume day squats to box squats-my first time doing them. i noticed recovery is definitely not an issue, so i am curious if box squatting would produce enough stress to make gains for maxing out. monday box squats, wednesday front squats 3x3, friday max squats.
    anything bad here>

No, nothing bad. This is one of the intermediate methods I use.

also, should my box squat be close to my free squat 5x5? im off by about 35 lbs lower currently. needless to say this produced almost no stress for a monday workout, but then again form might be the problem.

The biggest problem I see is that you are doing high-box squats with not very much weight. At your level I'd do only low-box squats, if you even need those. I'd argue that all box squatting should be reserved for those athletes well into intermediate training.
