minutes 11:00 - 30:00 are pure gold here, such a simple and true explanation of training that i wish i knew when i was 18. why do people not get it? why did i spend a decade wasting my time getting a "pump" at the gym while never getting stronger? thought id give it a bump bc this is an great summary of how everyone should go about training.

Looking back, the only time I looked liked I was a “lifter” when I was a bro split body part trainee, was straight after a session when I had then visible effects of the pump. I think it becomes easy to chase the pump because that’s when you see results that you like, albeit temporary and without much accumulation.
I wish I could go back and tell myself how to train. Except I know I wouldn’t listen. None of the youngins who approach me for advice listen.
Basically everything Rip has advised in his books, articles, videos and this forum has worked far better than anything I had done previous. Well except for the thinking for oneself stuff. I still manage to fuck training up.
