Default Bicep tendon's link to pronated or supinated deadlift grip.

Ever since I've started deadlifting my right arm simply cant go supinated on my grip. My right shoulder is built differently then my left and thus I've always done right hand pronated, left hand supinated.

I just read that you advocate beginners to flip their grips (between sets I believe), but this isn't possible for me. I usually do a double overhand for my warmup sets and then move to what is comfortable.

Anyways, I've had bicep tendonitis up into the shoulder from playing volleyball and training as a boxer for several months and my shoulder is really lagging to recover. I can only assume that deadlifting isn't helping my cause, but it doesn't have anything to do with my grip choice does it? I'd think that the bicep would be stressed more by the hand that is supinated.

Is my body just not able to handle 3x5x425 right now? I've been deadlifting for about 15 months now.

You obviously should do it the way you have been doing it, since to do it differently would fuck things up. Don't fuck things up on my account.

Isn't 3x5 for deadlift way too much volume? I find 1x5 once a week to be plenty.

I personally think three sets across on heavy deads are pretty tough for ANY body to recover from; do you agree, Rip? I've personally found that the recommended 1x5 is enough to continually increase strength without demolishing my body...

And by the way, 3 sets across is probably too much work for the deadlift, no matter what grip you're using.

Haha, ok. That's exactly what I was thinking.

Noted, I'll fiddle around with some smaller sets/reps.
