    Hello Rip,

How do you feel about strength training on the same day as playing or practicing a sport?

For those of us who play a casual sport on Saturday and/or Sunday, should we follow the Monday-Wednesday-Friday workout schedule?

    Or

Would it be preferable to shift our strength training to Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday for example, so that we have more days of full recovery?

    Thanks and stay strong!

Obviously depends on the sport. Obviously. And how hard you play it, and how old you are.

In this situation, the sport is tennis. Played vigorously enough to produce soreness for the following 48 hours.

    Male, Age: 30
    Squat: 295 x5x1 (280 x3x5)
    Deadlift 335 x5x1

How would one best organize the three strength training days specific to the above?

    Thank you for your reply!

I don't think it matters that much. If you're playing tennis on the weekends, your Monday workout will be done while you're sore. You'll be fine.
