Main difficulty seems to be hitting depth without knee slide. Use of a foam roller perpendicular to the deck to cue my depth in these clips.

If you need something for depth reference, use band or rope to preserve your hip drive.

Thanks GCL - i like shaun’s idea to use a thin, slackened strap to signal parallel - right now I’m using a small foam roller - I drop onto it and if I keep my knees fixed I know my hips are below my knees when I “sit” on it. Probably provides some bounce so ultimately I want to dispense with the practice and just use muscle memory.
