I noticed that the bar goes straight up and then backwards. This seems to worsen over the last weeks to a point where I lose balance and I need to make a small step backwards in order.
It seems to me that I lay back quite a bit and can‘t get my upper body forward until late in the press.

You're not getting all the way under the bar at lockout. Read the press chapter again.
