Starting Strength vs. Merchant Marines
As the title implies, I sail as a merchant mariner for a living. Weight rooms will generally only consist of a DB rack, a smith machine, and a bar. Most of the time, conditions are pretty good but every now and then the ship will roll pretty good where lifting heavy enough to grind is not always the safest option. Can the starting strength methodology be applied here? rather, how do i adjust focus to at least not lose progress i've made on land?

Do the best you can with what you have, but you can’t squat in a smith machine. Well, you can, but....
And you certain can’t bench in one.
Somettimes we don’t get to do exactly what we want in life, I guess. Rip always complains that he wanted to be an NBA player.
