    Background:

I have been an avid crossfit and krav maga practitioner. Saw 0 strength gains. Got really conditioned though! However, looking like a twig abercrombie model can only be so much fun. I have since changed my goals. My ultimate goal would be to compete and hold my own in the crossfit games. This would be something I would look into in about 2-4 years from now.

    I am 19 years old. 5'10-5'11. 155 lbs. bf% 7-8%

I started this log because I think I am:

1). The perfect candidate for SS
2). Hoping that other can learn from my experiences.

I had a consult with John Sheaffer. Got my diet pretty sorted out. I was already eating 100% paleo, hence the light weight/ low bf %. Basically, I am going to eat the same but add in GOMAD and good carbs from oats, potatoes, rice.. etc.

We also changed up the program a little. 2x5 and then 1x5+
I am also deadlifting every workout for 2 weeks and not powercleaning for now.

I started SS a week ago.

Here are my current stats (started lower then max to sustain linear progression and not stall early on)
    Squat: 165
    Bench: 115
    Press: 80
    Deadlift: 185

I could definitely add weight to the bench and press but for now it is best to slowly increase.

    Let's get big!

Welcome and good luck. Lot's of ex- or resting-Crossfitters here, and they seem to get good results in general.

Check out http://scores2010.crossfit.com/scori...iles/2010/men/ for goals. I'm hunting CF Games competitors. It's fun!

Welcome man. I started out where you are two months ago, without the crossfit experience though. It's a fun program, and I can't wait to see how the results come along. Good luck

Thanks guys. I am excited to be on it and am ready to put in the work! That link really motivated me!

    10/13/10

    Squat: 175 2x5 1x8
    Bench Press: 125 2x5 1x9
    Deadlift: 195 1x10

Question: I am able to drink my gallon of milk by midday. Would it be beneficial or detrimental to add another? or drink 1.5?

Dunno. Give the GOMAD two weeks, see how you feel, see how much weight you gain, see how your lifts progress. What bodyweight do you have as a goal?

Thanks. That is basically what I was going to do. Eventually, I would like to be a lean 200-210. I think that will give me the best success in the crossfit games.

Woke up today: 167 lbs. So I have gained 12 lbs in about 2 weeks. I still essentially have a six pack though. I don't mind losing it to get bigger and stronger. I just thought I would lose it sooner especially adding 12 pounds.

    Today's workout:

    Squat: 190 2x5 1x7
    Bench Press: 135 2x5 1x7
    Deadlift: 215 1x8

Summary 2 weeks: I have gained 12 pounds. My squat has went from 145 to 190. My deadlift has went from 160 to 215.

    10/22/10

    Squat: 200 2x5 1x6
    Bench Press: 140 2x5 1x10
    Deadlift: 235 1x6

Now that 2 weeks are up, I won't be deadlifting every workout. I will start adding in power cleans.
