BrooklynJerry / Carson / Mr. Bingley: Thank you! You are more than kind.

You can tell a lot about the way you walk by looking at the bottoms of your old shoes.
Mine are unusually well worn on the left, outside part of the heal.
I reinforce this area with oversized heel taps (rubber-ish), even on brand new shoes.
If I'm walking on a graded area, I want that heel toward the uphill.

Good to see you are back at it Mike. I hope you can overcome these issues that you are having. It seems us old guys are always having to go around roadblocks to get where we want to be. Consistency and being a stubborn ass about it not getting us down helps.

    Thanks Fred J!
Sadly, consistency has not been a strong suit for me.

I guess it is not how many times you go down, it's how many times you get up.
Only residual hip problem is when I lay on my left side, I feel a tightness / soreness on the outside of my thigh.
Oh, and general weakness from the downtime.
I'll prudently ramp up, and jump to fractional plates sooner.

Imagine sitting by a window overlooking a forest with a 2 year old on your lap, explaining the movement of clouds and airplanes, and hoping to see a coyote, occasionally calling them with our coyote howls.
Such things are worth working out to preserve.

That's a great reason to lift. I worked out with my 16yo grandson today and he kicked my butt. What fun.

BrooklynJerry: That is great! So much potential at 16!!!

Big excitement looking out the window last night. A racoon walked up to us (behind sliding glass door) and put his paw on the window. I said "look, a racoon, right there".
Fiona is stills saying "racoon, right there!!!" today. She to my knowledge has never said any of those 3 words. Clearly this made a big impression.
