Does climbing a ladder to clean the gutters count? In spite of the scary ads saying it's so dangerous to promote gutter guards.

I use a high powered leaf blower. You only have to go up and down the ladder once. Managing the power cord is a hassle, but if it has been dry, it goes real fast. Just gotta be careful. But your way is better cardio work.

I got out my old (made in 80's) wooden scaffold. Let's just say the all 2x4 construction is a bit of overkill. I used it on all the high places on my covered deck. (up to about 18' high)
I got the outer perimeter done. I can't work like I used to, but I can still work. So there's that. I'm hoping I can do my deads today.

So it's not just a Midwestern thing then.

I guess it's just a man thing. My neighbor who will be 89 next month still cuts his grass and changes the oil on his truck. I don't do either anymore. Im a retired mechanic and bring my car to the gas station to get my oil changed. I did replace my brakes last week at home. I just don't enjoy doing certain things any more

I think it is great to be self reliant. You get to do a variety of things, many of which you are no good at. LOL.
If you're gonna be that 89 year old who still mows his own lawn, you can't throw in the towel at 67.... or worse, like I did at 50.

    Dead Lift 135x3 225x1 257x3

Of course, this program is how I got restarted.
Before I re-started lifting, I would have bet big money that the dead would be my worst lift.
    It is easily my best.

Speaking of old guys mowing lawns... Gotta get out there before the heat.

Grats to you guys who do their own gutters. That is pretty uncommon.

Walt Kowalski and his approach to lawn care is my idol. But then, we live between two moderately sized communities and are unlikely to collect a crowd that Walt cleared out using his Garand.
