It makes sense for someone with your training history to do so. I hope you are able to drop in occasionally to give some feedback.

I asked to have this thread removed so it doesn't clutter up the forum.
Once it is deleted, I'll start another in the regular journals section.
I'll link a few old videos from YT as well so you see where I am coming from.
Thanks TartanEagle!

alrighty, since it's still here, let's go...
Going to try and follow a program for a bit and see what happens again.
For my own reference: Texas Method, page 235 of The Barbell Prescription
Personal tweaks:
moving deads to the Intensity day since it's only 1 work set of 5 and makes more sense to me there.
doing 5x5 neutral grip chins on Volume day
doing 8 sets of 3 neutral grip chins on recovery day
Today 200.6
squats - 250 for 5 sets of 5 reps
bench - 240 for 5 sets of 5 reps (pinky on the ring)
chins - me for 5 x 5
After training 75g dextrose, 50g whey, 12g creatine
Monday should be the Recovery day and Wednesday should be the Intensity day.
Hopefully I started light enough and everything feels ok.
Let's see how it goes.
Vids on FB and IG.

14 years ago yesterday.
I posted this up on my FB page.
I know my program jumps and skips like a worn out record, but I do know some things.
Just having trouble with this age thing sometimes.
-
I've still been training.
Top work sets from the last couple months:
Squats: 275 x 10
Bench: 270 x 10
Deadlift: 330 x 15
OHP: 160 x 10
I know, reps are too high. I feel decent so... Been following a 5/3/1 type format to just try and get the main lifts in. For a little while I was only training once or twice a week. I was typically benching on Sunday with some of our bench crew but even that slowed down. So at least the 5/3/1 idea keeps me going in to check another box. Unlike starting strength, I like the idea of just thinking about 1 lift for the day. It works for me. I'll keep playing around and see how it goes.

Perhaps you should be posting in the intermediate area or even the competition area. Either fits better with what you are doing. That way we could follow your progress with others on your level.
-
I asked a mod to move my thread but no luck. Perhaps I'll just start another since this this one didn't get off to a great start anyway.
Thanks.

I don't think mods deal with that. Just move to whatever you want. I was in this section for a few years. After was long past my novice program and was doing different intermediate programs I moved to the Intermediate program and placed a link here to let my friends know where I was. Just post where you fit. Look at the other three choices and go there. I didn't even know that this group of posts had moderators.
