Guido,
I really wish you hadn't posted those videos of your wife. I feel like such a wimp right now that I may never set foot in the gym again. You've caused a severe blow to my self-esteem that I may never recover from. I'm hoping that Krump is right and this was all due to some sort of metaphysical transfer of power from the man standing behind her. That's the only explanation that will sooth my damaged ego.
On a serious note: Those were some impressive lifts by both of you. I wish I could get my wife into the gym. (But then she'd probably out lift me and.....oh never mind).
^ Hey bud, don't worry about it. Keep in mind she's been training with me for 5 years so she's got plenty of experience. She also comes from an athletic background and is well suited to deadlifting due to her proportions. She started off very weak, barely able to bench the bar and deadlifting 115lbs the first time she did it. I didn't train her any differently than I do myself, so plenty of work on the Big 3 lifting heavy and knowing when to back off and when to go hard. Yes, she does intimidate a lot of guys in the gym who are surprised to see a woman who is so strong, and especially one her size!
Those were some great lifts by both of you. The one arm snatch was awesome lol!
Definitely inspiring, it's things like this that make me anxious to train.
Very inspiring. Thanks for posting your wife's awesome deadlift!
I bumped to this vid of your wife squatting:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-bUl76szcc&NR=1
It seems she is very flexible considering she goes into a ATG squat just to get under the bar. Yet I was suprised by the squats. Maybe it is just the angle, but it doesnt look like she is hitting parallel at all. Plus they look more like good mornings.
It may just be the viewing angle and here body proportions, but it does look rather odd.
I thought I could learn something by asking a question. The video is on youtube for public view and criticism already. Just thought I would ask here instead of via youtube comment. It maybe that she is indeed hitting parallel, but body proprtions are making it look odd. This would be interesting to know for those looking to teach others, especially women, to squat.
