Tuesday’s set of 265X5...any ideas on how to avoid the knees shooting back on the first 1/4 of the ascent?

Your back angle should be the same going into the hole as it is coming out of the hole. It looks (to me, just my opinion) like your knees are jammed a little too far forward and your torso is a little to vertical. Then coming out of the hole, your body tries to return to a position of power. But doing so means your getting extra movement in a bad way. And you are being thrown out of position with the change in trunk angle. So work on setting your correct back angle a little earlier and focus on it not changing at all going in and out of the bottom.

Really cue yourself to keep the weight on the midfoot. Watch your toes lift on some of the reps. That means you're getting back on your heels. It's probably because you're thinking about the hip drive, but it needs to be straight up and still balanced over the midfoot. TUBOW could help too.

    Today’s 270X5:

On the first rep, I almost fell forward which screwed up my bar path and made me miss depth. On the other 4, I feel like I have improved on my bar path and back angle just a bit...still a long way to go. Weights are starting to feel heavy at just under 1.8XBW, and so it becomes more and more difficult to improve my technique while doing heavy sets.

    Hey guys,

I have a form check in the SSC Q&A section, but I figured I would post here as well. Clocking in at about 2-3 lbs heavier than I was when I made this thread, my 3X5 is up to 280 lbs. I also feel like my technique is improved.

    Thoughts?
