Default Power Clean Form Check 2

Here's the video where I go through some of the initial steps enumerated in the power clean series (Power Clean Series - YouTube ): Form Check Videos - Google Photos .

I think I'm having two problems related to poor coordination:

    1. I'm so focused on getting the timing of different things right that I'm not jumping as high/hard as I could (notice the height difference when I just keep my arms straight and when I attempt to rack the bar).

    2. I'm not getting the timing right for when I reach the top of the jump and start coming down, so I'm either bending my arms early and pulling the bar up as I'm on my way up, or waiting to long and pulling the bar up after I've already reversed it's momentum and started back down.

Any advice you can provide to help me figure these issues out would be greatly appreciated.

Note that when you pull without racking, elbows stay straight, and when you intend to rack the bar they bend before the jump every time. Elbows can move fast enough to rack the bar on the way back down from the jump with straight elbows if your wrists are loose -- this is why the hook grip is important. Make up your mind that elbows will stay straight until AFTER the shrug at the top.

I'm moving the video to here so I don't have to maintain the album in Google Photos: Power Clean Form Check 2 - YouTube .
