My comeback is coming along. Usually I go up 5 pounds each workout but I am going up 10 pounds each workout until I get to the weight I need to reach my goal at the USAPL Masters World Cup in May. I want to win and set new National records for squat, deadlift, and total. If I have no set backs I will do it. Now to prove it!

I am heading to the State Championship tomorrow so I decided to do singles so my legs wouldn't be too tired to drive.

Damn arthritis in knees, bad shoulder keeping me from bench, and my heart getting weaker might mean I will miss my May USAPL Masters World Cup. Hopefully I will get to make the October WRPF National in St Louis. I will turn 72 two weeks after the meet. Age, injuries, and health are a PITA! No giving up though.

I had to use my light weight knee wraps for the arthritis pain in my knees. they are more like an Ace bandage but it served its purpose.

All the so called experts and machine pussies at the gym saying squats don't work hamstrings. Not if you don't go down deep enough. Mine feel like a tuned guitar string from Mondays squats.

Some thing popped in my hurt left knee with 320 so I just set it down on the safety bars. Monday I will get it.

The old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it is so true. Usually I eat an apple and other fruit before the workout. Today I decided to eat a real breakfast 2 hours before the workout. Wrong move. Every time I tried to do a heavy squat I would throw up into my mouth! Yucko! I ended up having to go down in weight to get my workout in.

The 275 and 300 made my stomach feel like I had lead in it. I waited about 15-20 minutes and then did the 260. Still have to wrap the left knee too. I will go to 265 Thursday and stick to my workout. 10 months off has zapped my strength! Not changing things anymore, staying with my sets off 3's and go up 5 pounds a workout. No more testing with singles. No more eating breakfast before a workout either. Hopefully by October 27 I will be back to where I want to be.

My left knee is swollen up like a grapefruit. Extra Strength Tylenol not helping much. I had forgotten I did a pin deadlift with 435 today. The bar was very slick and I didn't have enough chalk on but I still pulled it. I had not planned it but wanted to show the 29 year old I could who was doing them. It blew his mind is an understatement. I think the words were Jesus frigging Christ how did he do that! I told him it was secret old man power.
