I also highly recommend reading Jordan's rules of protein intake which do an excellent job of simply explaining the ins and outs of how that protein macro target should be met (timing, portions, quality, that kind of thing).
Edit: Oh, and I also highly recommend MyFitnessPal. The nutritional info of so much stuff is crowd sourced, so there is a very good chance that whatever you are eating is already uploaded by someone, especially if you can barcode scan it. My wife cooks a lot of recipes she finds online, and it is rare that something she cooks isn't already in the app, although portions can sometimes be a pain.
