RDL Question
In Rip's video on this exercise, he indicates you start from the rack, since the movement starts at the top.
My question is, given most people can deadlift far, far more than they can RDL, what is the harm in just deadlifting the movement off of the floor first, then hitting the RDLs and setting the bar back down? I can't imagine that one initial deadlift adding much more stress to the movement.
Thanks.

There is no problem with doing this at all. In fact, on those rare occasions that I have someone do RDLs, I almost always have them deadlift it normally to get to the top for the sake of expediency.
