    Default Is this the end of my NLP?

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    I am writing this for your guys' opinion because I want to hit certain numbers, but I do not know if it's worth going for them. I'm thinking of cutting because I have uni soon and would like to see my muscles, plus I have the strength to go with it. I don't mind doing an intermediate program in the future, but I want to be lean right now. I will list my stats and numbers so you guys can judge for yourself.

    * Age 19 (male)
    * Bodyweight of 245 lbs (started 185)
    * 28% body fat (US Navy method)
    * Height of 5'8
    * 4000-5000 calories a day
    * 10 months of progress
    * Starting squat: 175lbs 3x5
    * Starting bench: 110lbs 3x5
    * Starting deadlift: 200lbs 1x5
    * Starting OH press: 100lbs 3x5
    * Ending squat: 375lbs 1x3
    * Ending bench: 220lbs 3x5
    * Ending Deadlift: 390lbs 1x5
    * Ending OH press: 155 3x5

    I am not going to list my power cleans and chins as I will continue working on them after this program. I'm thinking before I end the program that I should try going for 400 1x5 and then cutting but I don't know if it's worth doing, as it seems arbitrary. What do you guys think?

    The program, such as it is, never ends.

    Your deadlift needs to be so much heavier. All your lifts need to be heavier, if you want to make the most of being 19.

    Push your deadlift out a good chunk. You can probably do it. This is good, honest progress but you have a whole lot more in you. You should be thinking about a 2x bodyweight squat and a 2.5x bodyweight deadlift.

    I really don’t know if I’ll have the time for that, considering I have university. Maybe in the future. It’s nots like I’m going to lose all my strength, right?

    Getting those numbers does not take much more time, if any, than getting the numbers you already have. You need to be lifting heavier, and you will be able to if you try.
