Hey Cole, Turns out it wasn't torn...thankfully.

I had a variety of issues with my shoulder…most of which is related to age/wear and tear.

Tendinosis of the (long head) biceps tendon). This caused the most acute discomfort. It would occasionally pop out of the groove at the humoral head. Instead of tapping or screwing it down to keep it in place, I opted to have it severed. This causes a minor change in the shape of my bicep but no change in functionality. Plus it’s a faster recovery.

Type 2 acromium and bone spurs: my acromium is slightly curved and had bone spurs that were aggravating my rotator cuff. He polished off the bone spurs and flattened the curve of the bone to eliminate contact with the tissue below.

The radiologist indicated that there was a partial tear of the rotator cuff from the MRI. The plan was to assess the degree of the damage to determine if we should pursue a repair later or just leave it alone. Turns out everything is intact both above and below.

Arthritis in the ball and socket of the joint: I’ve got decent spacing between the ball and socket, but some movements create friction and pain (like shaving my head), so he cleaned up some of calcium deposits in the area.
