Thanks, Fred. It is interesting now that I'm tracking all of the Set x Rep schemes, which makes them happen almost weekly, just in different ways. But next week, both Squat & Press will be absolute PR's, while I will tie my absolute PRs in three weeks time for both the Deadlift and Bench at the end of the next cycle. So the train is rolling, and I'm enjoying it.

re: smoke. Thankfully the wind shifted with this cold front (relatively speaking), so it's staying well away from us at the moment. Unfortunately, the front brought very gusty winds, so where they were able to make some headway on the fires overnight, they're out of control again today.

    265x5x3

Music — Sepultura vs New Model Army, The Hunt; Soulfly vs Discharge, Ain't No Feeble Bastard; Slipknot, Yen (released today).

    Notes
    - DL - Heavy Triple at +20lbs over last week's x5. This is a x3 PR that's awesome, since my x5 PR is 340x5 set back on 12/8/21 (single 380 was on 12/17/21). And it was a limit triple, with the last one being a very grindy, shaky tower of power from just below the knees to lockout, with no hitches. That limit effort sure made the 90% backoff triple feel heavier than it was, but all were good and without concern.
    - SQ - Light Day. But like other Light Squat Days after Heavy Deadlifts, they sure don't feel too light. But they are manageable. All good.

Music — The Clash, The Guns Of Brixton; Killing Joke, War Dance; Dead Kennedys, Riot.

    Notes
    - OP - Heavy Singles, +10lbs over last week's 4x3. All good. This is a "F*ck Yeah!" PR, an absolute PR at any Set x Rep scheme. It certainly helped to watch Austin's Press video right before to get my head in the right space (thanks J!). Rep #1 flew up to lockout; Rep #2 was a bit slower but still solid; Rep #3 really started to slow overhead, and although it locked out fine, that slowing let some doubt seep in. That doubt lasted only for a second as I re-focused on "BREAK! (The Glass)." Reps #4 & #5 went up without concern.
    - BP - Light day. All good, as they should be for a Light day.

and also thanks for the ear worm...

when they kick out your front door
    how you gonna come
with your hands on your head
or on the trigger of your gun...

    what a bass riff

    Thanks, Mr B!

Yep, that's a great tune. Half of my favorite part of that double album - Clampdown/Guns of Brixton. Two standout tunes on a release full of brilliant songs.

    Thanks, J!

Yep. I was already visualizing the moves and practicing them during the warmups, but figured that little bit would only help.

Music — Pregame pump: Oingo Boingo, Who Do You Want To Be; Devo, Smart Patrol / Mr. DNA / Gut Feeling / Slap Your Mammy (live, 1980); B-52's, Strobe Light; Gametime — Funkadelic, Super Stupid; Dio, The Last In Line.

    Notes
    - SQ - Heavy Singles, +20lbs over last week's 4x3. Another Absolute PR, +5lbs over my last PR of one single 335lbs during my Mock Meet back in December, 2021. None of them were a concern, coming out of the hole strongly each time, although they would slow a bit on their way up, which was no surprise. Rep #2 dropped surprisingly quickly on the way down, but I was able to control it and bounce back up. There might have been a bit of knee slide on #4, so I had my bride watch #5, where she observed a bit of knee cave. Otherwise, all good.
    - Chins - Chins. Just chins.
