Squat failure on texas intensity day or deadlifts?
Sorry to bother, if weights are moving consistently up by 2.5kg a week on volume day but by intensity day im starting to stall on last weeks PR, what should i do? I don't know if its to do with the 1*5 set of conventional deads on recovery day which is recommended, causing me to be fatigued.
Do you recommend moving deads to intensity day or will that be too much. Or substituting con.deads with romanian or stiff or even high pulls on recovery day?
Thanks im on 4th week of texas, my program:
tue:
5*5 sq
'' '' bench/press
3*5 p.c
3*8-10 d.b row
thu:
2/3*5 sq (80%)
2*5 b.p/press
1*5 deads
2*12 lat pulldowns (supinated) I used to do chins instead here but can only do 1-2 reps since gaining weight.
sat:
1-3 rm sq
1-4 rm b.p/press
1-2 rm p.c or 3*5
3*12 close grip pushups
4 sets of max reps bw horizontal rows
Thanks very much

The deadlifts are probably the problem. Do them on Saturday, after your squats. Cut out the DB rows, pushups, and rows and get your chins/pullups strong. It doesn't matter what you weigh, you ought to be able to do more than 2 chins.
