Sure. Do the light goodmornings. Just don't do them dynamically.
hey coach rip,
Just finshed reading through starting strenght for the second time a few weeks ago and recently just finished practical programing ( great read!). Just coming back into to lifting after a month layoff from work/vacation.
My question is whether I can replace the glut ham/back ext with say good mornings or something lift very light power cleans on the every other day schedule. I know this question seems kind of elementary but each excersises have there own benefits.
I should mention I workout entirly at home and therefore dont have access to a roman chair, If you have any other suggestions for doing to exts or raises IM open to hear them
thanks, mike.

thanks to that last long one started by will I hope everyone knows not to do them DE... if they haddent already. thanks for settling my mind on that coach.
I was just fucking with Will D.
This is pretty random but I wonder if "Will D" is meant to stand for "Will Dunk".
Hey coach, I saw a video of you on You-Tube talking about Doug Young. You appeared to be finishing a set of back extensions with a band, prior to talking about Doug Young. They seemed to have been quite dynamic as you were breathing hard at the end of the set. Is there a difference between dynamic work with a band and dynamic good mornings with a light weight?
Yes, there is a difference between a high-rep set of lightly-banded 45-degree back extensions and a goodmorning. The 45 degrees. No real spinal compression under a load and in flexion.
