I'd imagine the simple fact toddlers move more makes a bigger difference than anything. The world and their bodies are novelties and they're doing what they can to explore and interact with both of them. Many adults have no interest in moving any more than the absolute minimum they must. So again, it's back to moving vs not moving, not any magical innate abilities.
I'd also guess that the square cube law would at least partly explain toddlers' supposed amazing strength levels. I imagine it'd be pretty easy to squat however you (or gravity) wanted if you're 2.5 feet tall, only weigh 28 lb ... and had stubby little legs that create a fairly short ROM below parallel squat.

Does holding your breath during a heavy lift put too much pressure on the heart?
I brought my dwarf over from NZ to back squat two grown men from the audience for a weekend.
I learnt two things, dwarves have fantastic levers for squatting... (Like children)
And it's best to put them in another vehicle if you don't have room for them, having one behind a cage in the back of your 4x4 is hard to explain to the police.
Like the thread wasn't ALREADY derailed.
