I was watching Gladiator for the first time in, well decades. Oliver Reed, who plays Proximo, looks familiar.......

Whilst looking after my youngest with an illness she asked to put on our Watership Down DVD. To anyone unfamiliar its a "children's" film but one that would bring numerous warnings these days. It depicts a colony of rabbits trying to establish itself following the destruction of their warren with themes of loyalty, family and religion throughout. I loved it as a child - to be honest for its brutal fight scenes but it is spellbinding throughout. Don't get me wrong when you first watch it you'll be thinking "this is a cartoon about fucking rabbits" but it really is, in my opinion, an amazing film well worth seeing.

Mark, have you had a chance to see Gladiator 2 yet? If so, your thoughts?

The CGI was both horrendous and very, very good.

The story, particularly the central premise, was nonsensical. Without giving too much away, they effectively threw away the plot of the entire first film in order to construct this one. All that was left was gentle sentimentality. Denzel Washington delivers another fine performance as "Denzel Washington."

This is what happens when you try to insert a fictional story into established history. It works for one movie, see Gladiator, Braveheart, and The Patriot. It doesn't hold up with sequels.

What are the groups thoughts on Alien:Romulus?

I liked it but I'm easily pleased.
