Picked up a bottle of the Elijah Craig Small Batch (on sale for about thirty bucks).
Pretty damn good, if sweet. Used to be one of my favorite bourbons, but I had a couple bottles that didn't hit me quite the same way, and stopped buying it.

I picked up a couple bottles of their BIB product when we drove through Kentucky last year. Just opened the last bottle the other night - delicious. Rip, I hadn't been bothering to water things down to 80 unless they started out significantly over 100 proof, but you're right - it's a big improvement taking it down to 80-90 proof.

Man, none of the Elijah Craig stuff has ever done anything for me. I'd rather drink Old Crow, and I infinitely prefer regular ol' Buffalo Trace.

I did find a bottle of Yamazaki 12 locally for $90. Mr. Reynolds told me to buy it. So I did. It is delightful.

Buddy from the UK visited and brought me a very nice 10-year Jura Superstition. How it manages to be sweet, peated, and a little afterbite of spicy I have no idea, but damn is it good.

I hate you guys. I listened to the podcast, was curious, bought a Rittenhouse B&B, 4 Roses small batch (was on sale for $30 seemed a good deal), Old grandad 114. Tried all 3. loved the Rittenhouse the best. Fast forward a month and now I have 13 opened bottles. What the hell have you done to me?

Fun right? I have 140 opened bottles. It just gets worse from your 13.

... and then you get to where whiskey storage is one of your primary considerations for moving to a larger place.

I got these two based on the recommendations seen here. The Willet is a little more then I like to spend on my libations but with what I heard about about the difficulty finding it I had to grab it. The first glass I poured is seen in the picture so I have no opinions on it yet. With the Grand Dad I feel like I'm adding too much water to get it to a drinkable level where I don't get the burn and immediate heart burn, so I don't think I'm getting all the flavor notes people mention. Most of what I get is oak.

+1. Exactly one month since first purchase (Eagle Rare 10 and Rittenhouse BIB), I have 15 bottles - 10 of which are open (will be 11 after tonight). Maybe I should spend my $ on coaching instead!?!?
