After WWII and before the 90s, California voted reliably Republican. It is worth saving.
Untill Reagan allowed the 1986 act I think was the year giving amnesty. Truth be told it's not his fault, the demographics had already shifted and the law was just reflecting reality. But demographics drive politics and California is more Mexico then America because more Mexicans live in it.

I'll tell you again: I didn't vote in my election because the outcome, at the present moment, doesn't affect the course the country is on in any meaningful way.

At some point we really have to get into what it is atually meant by the terms "right" and the "left", and their values, in 2024.

It might be funny if I didn't live in a vassal state of the US and if everything which we held dear for centures had not been utterly corrupted (in mere months, and years - not decades) by ideas from Washington DC, and NYC before that. The American people are fantastic, but in the West (and especially in America itself) there is a massive cultural split between those who accept everything America is (in contemporary terms) and those who reject Americanism and claim to be the most American of all. The most indigenous, blue-grass, socially conservative Americans rightfully advocate for the end of an American empire and for isolationism. I'm totally with them on that.

I do not think that is where the US is headed. The MAGA requires two things an empire and isolation, not isolation from world trade, but to control it, only isolated from what the world and the democrats wanted a one world government. Trump is not a globalist, but a nationalist and if he achieves this this will have folk like the Chinese premier lining up to his agenda. Countries like Australia are now totally out of sync with the US and are looking at your new environmental head Chris Wright as an example who is poles apart from our own incompetent environmental minister Chris Bowen.

The Mainstream Media, a typical example: A seventh grade media literacy class demonstrates how to handle tough conversations this Thanksgiving - CBS News

"Facts can be proven, like pumpkin pie has less sugar and apple pie has more nutritional value," one student said, after acting out an argument about which kind of pie is best.

In a second group, a student said the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade – a New York City tradition that began in 1924 – was taking place in Florida this year. Her scene partner helped her determine the website showing the incorrect location was satirical.

"Satire can be a form of saying a joke," the student explained. "But satire can be dangerous, because some people may fall for it. Like you might have gone to buy plane tickets for Florida."

Exciting news from the land of Oz,

We have just passed the world's strictest social media ban. Under 16s won't be allowed on social media. It was passed without debate and both sides of the game were for it, with very few exceptions. One woman, the safety commisioner will be in charge of how to actually implement it because they don't think about those things until after they pass the law.

Doesn't sound like a big deal but it's a $50 million fine for each breach to the social media companies, and more importantly they are likely going to have to take ID or biometric data for anyone to use their platforms. Goodness knows how they or someone else might use that data.

This Labor government has apparently rammed through over 200 new laws in 2 years.

They are likely to pull out of Australia. They should, immediately. Meanwhile, the North American Australians embarrass themselves again:

Ontario town fined $10,000 for refusing to celebrate pride month | National Post

An Ontario town has been fined $10,000 and its officials ordered to complete mandatory “human rights” training after it refused to celebrate Pride Month.

In a decision handed down last week, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario ruled that Emo, its mayor and two of its councillors had violated the Ontario Human Rights Code by refusing to proclaim June as “Pride Month.”

The town was also cited for failing to fly “an LGBTQ2 rainbow flag,” despite the fact that they don’t have an official flag pole.

Default Left vs Right and when

It does seem there has been an inversion, i.e. the right is fighting for the first amendment. Wasn't that the job of the left in the past?

I almost hope that turns out to be true, but I'm not convinced that this won't be used for even more control to be taken away from us by the controllers. Maybe Elon will save us from our villainous commissioner yet again.

    That's not Elon's job.

This is an example of Modern "Journalism" meeting modern psychological problems: Women Are Getting Sterilized After Donald Trump's Victory: 'Only Option' - Newsweek

It's not a procedure you'd expect a 28-year-old to be planning. But for Lydia Echols from Texas, having her fallopian tubes removed is the price she's willing to pay to ensure her reproductive rights.

Newsweek spoke to five women who have either undergone sterilization procedures or plan to in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's victory on November 5. They all expressed fear their reproductive choices will be taken from them under Trump's administration.

"If I am to be denied any rights in the next four (or more) years, I will not give them up without a fight," Echols said.
Lydia is going to remove her ability to choose about reproduction so that Donald Trump can't take away her reproductive choices. She wants to be a victim of Trump's Authoritarian Regime so badly that she's preemptively doing it to herself. These are the consequences of our society's decision to respect feeling over thinking.

    Different crazy woman:

The woman from Washington has not told those close to her that she has been sterilized. Since she was a child, she has known she does not want children.

She and her husband, who had a vasectomy in 2021, both felt that they had experienced too much trauma as children themselves to be the parents they wanted to be. She has also struggled with multiple health issues, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which made pregnancy risky for her.

But "neither of us wanted to subject me to an unnecessary surgery or jeopardize my health."

"I paid way too much attention to the vitriol Trump repeatedly spit during his previous term," she added, "and am keenly aware of the people he keeps around him and in his ear, who all seem to see women as incubators and possessions to subjugate."

The woman scheduled a sterilization appointment in October, "fully planning to cancel the surgery the day after the election, assuming Kamala won."

"With Trump's victory, we quickly learned that my choice to cancel the surgery had been taken from me," she said. "We both believed that I had no choice but to proceed to ensure that I can protect my health should I be assaulted during a Trump presidency, should my husband's vasectomy fail and/or should my hormonal birth control become inaccessible."

She added: "This isn't a wanted procedure, but one of necessity due to the politics and subjugation coming our way."
