    Rip,

It is possible to shove the knees too far out under load?

I was trying to make sure of this on my last lifting day and during lighter loads, it felts as if the weight over my feet actually rolled to the outside of my lifting shoes. Not that I lifted up the inside to roll the shoe over, but I could feel the weight distribution really moving to the outside of the foot.

As weight went up, I don't know if I felt this any more...as I was a little preoccupied with all of the freakin' weight on my back, but my secondary question would be...would the above scenario maybe indicate that my stance is not wide enough?

All I can tell you is that the next day, my hamstrings, and inside groin muscles were ROCK'd hard. They were as sore as they have ever been.

Thanks again for your time and knowledge.

    Michael

"Too far" would occur if the weight distribution between your shoe and the floor changes to the point that the medial side deloads. It's more likely to happen with a narrow stance, or if your flexibility is excessive. It's very hard to do this for most people since adductor tension usually cannot be overcome to this extent.

Typically that means you are doing them correct
