    Hi Rip,

    What is the training effect of a heavy single? For example a max single done on a weekly basis? I'm not talking about novices here or even intermediates really - I mean for advanced lifters in the squat and the deadlift.

    Also, will you be watching the weightlifting at the Olympics?

    This is not training, it is testing. You will detrain.

    Arguably heavy singles are a skill that needs to be practiced if you are into powerlifting.
