53 years old, making good progress but pain is increasing
Making decent progress on NLP.
Started SS on Jan 12, as of last week, numbers are below.
Squat 160-->250
DL 225-->315
Bench 145-->225
Press 90--160
BW 261-->250ish.
Tweaked back last month but fixed it (and DL technique that caused it). Lost a couple of weeks of LP on DL and squats because of that.
Feeling strong, but overall aches and pains, especially in my shoulders, are increasing to the point they are not going away between workouts. Will post separate press question on technique page about shoulder pain.
I've read BB prescription and threads about older lifters. My question is this.
Is it better to 1) Make Wednesday a light squat and DL day, also maybe no presses since shoulders are aching, or 2) Go to a one on, two off or a twice a week workout? I'm feeing like the extra recovery day would be good and getting to the gym every 3rd day is not a problem. For me, better slower and injury free.
Also thinking about getting some micro plates for the presses and making smaller jumps there even though I've not stalled.
Appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks,
RLM

Try both approaches and see which works best for you. But you are fucking up if you don't have the microplates.
